Feraliser

When I first received the brief to work on an initiative called ‘Feraliser’ I thought: what an interesting name!

Social Enterprise Branding

It didn’t take long to realise that the name was 100% perfect. Feraliser is a social enterprise in Far North Queensland that creates a reliable and independent financial income for local indigenous populations by converting the carcasses of feral pigs — whose vast numbers present a huge environmental challenge. They can be used to create liquid and solid fertiliser amendments through the use of existing inexpensive ‘open source’ technologies that when used on cane sugar crops, can increase yield by up to 20%.

It was my first project working with Brandkind, a community of brand and marketing specialists that are bringing the strategic rigour and creative strength of large corporate organisations to social enterprises. And the first time I have worked with a logo of a pig!

A Pitch Deck for funding proposals

My brief was to create a pitch deck that the Feraliser team could use to generate funding for their enterprise. Using PowerPoint, the end result called upon a bespoke colour palette, a locked-down typography system, carefully curated image gallery and customised graphics in a tightly formatted template. We also streamlined the logo by introducing a more refined typeface that we could also pull through as headings into the deck and communications.

“Thanks so much Julia. We’re so happy with the work you’ve done.” Amy Blacker, Whitebox Enterprises

Here’s a look at the work we did:

Colour palette, typography, graphics and imagery branding for an indigenous social enterprise,

Thank you Feraliser for trusting me with this important brand, and thank you Brandkind — I look forward to collaborating on more rich and rewarding projects!
